Appearance and themes

Ultrathink lets you customise the visual experience to suit your preferences, screen size, and working environment. You can change the colour theme, adjust font size, control layout density, and fine-tune how the entries grid is displayed.

All appearance settings are found under Settings > Appearance and Settings > Display.

Theme options

The theme controls the overall colour scheme of the application.

ThemeDescription
LightWhite background with dark text; best for well-lit environments
DarkDark background with light text; reduces eye strain in low light
AutoFollows your operating system's preference; switches automatically when your system toggles between light and dark mode

Changing the theme

  1. Open Settings > Appearance.
  2. Under Theme, select Light, Dark, or Auto.
  3. The change applies immediately across all views.

The Auto option is useful if your operating system switches themes based on the time of day. Ultrathink detects the change and updates without requiring a page reload.

Font size

You can adjust the size of the font used throughout the application.

SizeDescription
SmallTighter text; fits more content on screen
MediumDefault size; balanced readability
LargeBigger text; easier to read on high-resolution displays

Changing font size

  1. Open Settings > Appearance.
  2. Under Font size, select Small, Medium, or Large.
  3. The change applies immediately.

Font size affects all text in the application, including the navigation, grid entries, the detail panel, and settings pages.

Density

Density controls the amount of whitespace and padding between elements.

DensityDescription
CompactTighter spacing; shows more entries and content on screen at once
NormalDefault spacing; a balanced middle ground
ComfortableMore whitespace between elements; a more relaxed, spacious layout

Changing density

  1. Open Settings > Appearance.
  2. Under Density, select Compact, Normal, or Comfortable.
  3. The layout adjusts immediately.

Compact density pairs well with a Small font size if you want to maximise the amount of information visible without scrolling. Comfortable density works well on larger monitors where screen space is not a concern.

Display settings

Display settings control how entries appear in the main grid. These options are found under Settings > Display.
